Neurodivergence
Understanding the unique ways our minds and nervous systems function is key to knowing what we need to feel and be our best. Sorting the aspects of our experience we want to accept and embrace - the differences that make us each special just as we are - from the aspects we want to change is one of the foundations of Laura’s approach to care: treat distress, not difference.
Laura specializes in supporting people who have a neurodivergent experience. This may mean you if:
You’ve been diagnosed with a mental health condition or developmental disability, including but not at all limited to: autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing disorder, dissociation, PTSD, depression.
You’ve always felt like there was something different about your mind/emotions/experiences and you would like to explore this further.
You identify as highly sensitive or an empath.
You struggle with self-acceptance.
You feel like you have an intense sensory experience or get sensory overload.
You feel disconnected from your body or the world around you.
You want to explore what it means to be neurodivergent and WELL!

Chronic Conditions
What does it mean to be disabled and well? (Western) concepts of “wellness” often exclude disabled people, but if we expand our definition across multiple domains of being (mental, emotional, spiritual, social) we can explore how we can thrive when we live with chronic physical and/or mental conditions.
If you are disabled or have chronic conditions, Laura can support you with:
Mental health coaching focused on finding joy and pleasure (even with challenges and/or pain), while making space for grief and frustration
Self-advocacy and accommodations
Preparing for appointments with specialists and navigating the medical system; healing from medical trauma
Choosing herbs and supplements that are supportive and safe with your medications (and not taking more than you need)
Life “hacks” to make lifestyle changes possible and sustainable
Supporting overall health that focuses on all of you, not just your primary diagnosis(es)
Exploring what wellness means to you!
